Hard-driving instrumentals and cracker-jack vocals define this popular bluegrass quintet. Their performance offers a sneak peek at what to expect at Walnut Valley Festival come September. Led by the best-kept secret from Colby, Kansas: the supremely talented McLemore twins, Blake and Brandon’s yearly trek to Winfield began even before they were born. Their mom wasn’t about to let a pregnancy with twins keep her from attending the annual fall bluegrass classic. So, the kids grew up with instruments in their hands and bluegrass in their blood.

Guitar-slinger and arboretum steward Kentucky White has officially stepped into the limelight joined by fiddler Steve Story from Oklahoma. All powered by the irresistible forward motion of Kansas’ very own Jimmy Campbell on five-string banjo.

Gates at 3 PM
Show at 4 PM
Food trucks available – Lyon’s Den BBQ, Little Lion Ice Cream and
Luciano’s Tuscan Cuisine – or pack a picnic.
$10 tickets at the gate – kids free if under wing.

In addition, the exhibition entitled Garden Plots continues through this final weekend.

You can step into the Depot for a unique art/prose exhibit from our friends Tom Averill & Clint Ricketts. Pen and ink and watercolor accompany poems, rants, meditations and parables. Enjoy the garden as art and as word, while at Bartlett – a long-standing inspiration for Averill’s literary work.
