2.  SKT -- Ever Building New Lines of Communication 

Trying to get the word out for your church group?  Attract buyers to your HUGE garage sale?  Find good homes for kittens?  Sell your home?  SKT can help in a couple of ways!
 
The first method you can do yourself for FREE – as long as you have access to the Internet … and that would be posting your information on SKT’s Website, www.SKTMainstreet.com.  Go there, and you’ll see four blue bars:  “Post your News,” “Post Your Events,” “Post your Classifieds,” and “Post your Photos.”  Simply click on the one that will serve your purpose best and follow the prompts.  SKT’s Website, www.SKTMainstreet.com, has well over 100,000 page views per month, with users spending an average of nearly five minutes on the site, which is excellent, considering the average time is two minutes.  Our bounce rate is excellent too (29.7% compared to the average of 75% quickly leaving a website page)!  While you’re there, you might find a great deal on an appliance or take a moment to enjoy the beautiful photos submitted by customers for our biennial photo contests.  
 
The second way to get the word out is to have us post it on SKT’s Cable Channel 2!  The cost is just $7.50 per week or $25.00 per month for residential ads.  On Channel 2, each page displays for 15 seconds, with the ads rotating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year!  Simply call us at 888.758.8976 or e-mail your information to channel2@sktcompanies.com.  We’ll do our best to create an ad just for you, completely customized with your colors, photos, or graphics.  We’ll be happy to e-mail you a proof before broadcasting, and if you have an SKT account, we’ll simply add the charge to your next billing.  Also, where applicable, we also post your events, items for sale, job openings, etc., on our Website at no extra charge. 
 
And finally, we’ve been having fun and building new lines of communication on our SKT Facebook page.  We have Music Mondays, Trivia Tuesdays, Wacky Wednesdays, Thursday Thoughts, and Friday Fun going on each week.  And, at least once per week, we award customers $10 off their SKT billing and give away prizes.  This summer we’ll also be offering free tickets to local events, gift certificates to local businesses, and letting you know about fun events you might want to take in on the weekends.  Quite simply, we would love for you to “Like” us on Facebook.

3.  Southeast Kansas Directory Cover Photo Contest

SKT is excited to announce the start of their Annual Directory Cover Photo Contest for Southeast Kansas. This year’s deadline to submit your photos is Thursday, August 15, 2013.  SKT telephone customers in and around Atlanta, Beaumont, Burden, Cambridge, Dexter, Elk Falls, Grenola, Latham, Longton, Piedmont, Reece, and Rosalia are invited to enter the contest by submitting  up to three photographs that have been taken in these SKT southeast Kansas service areas.  Photos may be sent in JPEG format via e-mail to sktdirectory@sktcompanies.com, or standard 4x6 photographs may be mailed to SKT Directory Contest, PO Box 800, Clearwater, KS 67026.  The photographer’s name, address, telephone number, and a brief description must accompany the photo(s), and those sent by mail will be returned.
 
Prizes will be awarded by the end of August, with $100 to the winner, and their photograph featured on the front cover of the SKT 2013-2014 Southeast Kansas Area Directory.  The second-place winner will receive $50 and third place, $25.  All of the photographs entered will be available for your enjoyment on SKT’s Website, www.SKTMainstreet.com, by the first part of September.
